4 Simple Things To Do Every Day That Will Improve a Christian's Spiritual and Physical Health

1 Thessalonians 5:14-19

“Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit.“

Rejoice- we should always be rejoicing that Christ is our Savior. Even if we've lost everything else, like Job, we can say, that God is still worthy! We have heaven as our eternal home. The Bible tells us the world will only get worse but there will be an end to all of its evil when our Saviour Jesus Christ comes back to earth. We have hope, so we can rejoice!

Pray Without Ceasing- always be in the spirit of prayer. The Bible says it will actually give you better health to trust in the Lord and not in your own power. Proverbs 3:5-8 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.”

God doesn’t expect us to know everything, but He does want us to know Him. He wants us to go to Him for direction and wisdom in every part of our lives.

Give Thanks in Everything- it doesn't say give thanks for everything, but in everything.  Science has actually proven this over and over again. If you are a thankful person your overall health will improve. If you are a negative person who always complains and finds things to be worried or upset about than your health will suffer and certain diseases can be triggered by bad thinking alone. So find the things to be thankful for. Look for them.

Quench Not the Spirit- every time you feel the Lord laying something on your heart, hearing a voice leading you in a right certain direction, obey it. Every time we ignore the Lord we are quenching His Spirit. Don’t miss out on the blessings God has for you. If He wants to use you, be willing trust Him. He knows us better than we know ourselves yet we can still be deceived by thinking that we know better. Fear is the greatest emotion that our flesh uses to control us. The Bible says in 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

Don’t let your fear and pride control your life. Trust God. Acknowledge him in all your ways, wait on Him, and He promises that He will direct your path and give you strength.
